‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’

This summer William Shakespeare’s joyous comedy graces the gardens of East Anglia, with it’s confused lovers, thespian mechanicals and fantastical fairies.

One of Shakespeare's most popular works, ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’ follows young love’s escape into a magical forest. While Oberon tries to help love along, his not so able assistant Puck manages to confuse the whole affair. Lovers profess their affections for the wrong person, and the fairy queen herself falls in love with, well, a donkey!

For twenty years Mouth to Mouth theatre company (formerly Outside Seating) has been sprinkling Shakespeare on the beautiful Suffolk landscape, in locations such as Framlingham Castle, Leiston Abbey and even Ipswich Town Hall steps (Julius Caesar of course!).

Now Mouth to Mouth is the resident company at the New Cut Arts Centre in Halesworth, Suffolk, but we wouldn’t stop braving the great British summer to bring Shakespeare’s works to unusual corners of rural East Anglia…

This production will embellish and enchant twelve of the regions most idyllic and unspoilt locations with a classical representation of Shakespeare’s most loved work. From Bungay to Eye to Cambridge; “The course of true love never did run smooth…”
