THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR
Shakespeare’s brilliantly constructed farce and
the only comedy set in his native land.
For over twenty years Mouth To Mouth have entertained
summer audiences in beautiful locations. From Castles,
Stately homes, Festivals, Cathedrals gardens and even car parks.
This year Mouth brings their dynamic, innovative style
to The Merry Wives of Windsor. Fun, feisty and physical,
Mouth have a an ability to engage audiences of all
ages. Bring a picnic, a chair or rug, and plenty to
drink and indulge yourselves, except where there is
a bar of course...
Shakespeare’s lovable rogue Sir John Falstaff plans
to restore his fortunes by seducing the wife of one
of Windsor's wealthy citizens, Alice Ford. He sends her a love letter and,
for good measure, sends another, identical, letter to Meg Page a friend of Alice.
Both women agree to trick Sir John to teach him a lesson.
Another hot topic is, who will marry Anne Page,
the daughter of a wealthy local family? Dr Caius, Master
Slender and Master Fenton make up the trio of hopeful suitors. Busy body Mistress
Quickly, is engaged as the lovers go between, as well as between
Alice Ford and Sir John.
Jealous husbands chase wives, jealous lovers
chase each other and duel. Windsor society is rocked
with scandal but with the merry wives fully in control the lecherous Sir John
gets his just rewards.
